We are still here

We are still here. Life got busy all of a sudden. After dealing with the loss of Cobi's mom on December 11th and the death of his Grandmother on the 22nd, we tried our best to enjoy Christmas. The kids did. They were really cute Christmas morning. I think Preston thinks that Christmas is the coolest day of the year. My favorite part was Adyson reapplying her Tinkerbell lipgloss over and over and over. She is such a girl.
I got a job in February working as an interpreter for a deaf kid in Blackfoot. It is a 30 minute drive but it is WITHOUT traffic. :) Cobi is still seeking employment and has a couple of promising leads. But as for right now he is parenting Adyson during the day. I come home to a clean house with dinner on the stove most nights.
It has been two months since Cobi's mom Robbie passed away, every month on the anniversary of her death we take yellow roses to her grave. She loved yellow roses. We buy a dozen and leave the number of the months she has been gone. This month we left two and took the other ten home to remember her by evertime we see or smell them. I think it helps to keep her memory alive. It is strange being in her home seeing her things and missing her. We used to talk a lot and she always gave such great advice. I find myself longing for that conversation. At Alexa's funeral service in Texas last June they released 50 pink balloons symbolic of her the 50 months that she lived. The kids and I were in Idaho when they funeral happened so we went to the store and bought four balloons of our own and did a balloon realease for her. It was so symbolic watching the balloons float into Heaven. Now evertime my kids get a balloon they let it go in hopes that Alexa will be able to get it in Heaven. So now each month when we take the flowers to Robbie's grave we release a balloon for her and Preston sends his balloon to Alexa. Life sure has handed us lemons lately. I just hope that we will be guided to make lemonade out of it.
Preston is enjoying his HALF day Kindergarten. He transitioned well to the new school and is playing basketball at the YMCA. He made up his own slang word (or got it from a tv show) He thinks things are JANK now. He told me "you remember that day when I wanted to go to play go carts and we didn't? Well that was sooo JANK mom! I couldn't help but laugh!
Adyson is getting so big. She loves to sing all the time and she is an awesome rollerskater (I guess the apple doesn't fall far from that tree) we took the kids to the skating rink (my high school hang out) about a month ago and by the end of the night she was skating without help!
It is nice being "home" in Idaho but we sure miss Texas and all the wonderful people we met there. We are hoping that we will be able to come visit for spring break. Cobi's other Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and the chemo isn't going to work so they are trying radiation. When it rains it pours I guess :( Just wanted to let yall know we are still here. Even though we haven't posted.

So glad to hear from you. I can't imagine how hard it has been for you to endure all that you have over the past couple of months...and throw a move into the mix. We will be praying for you guys. Cancer stinks! Sounds like the kids are doing really well. They sure grow up fast, before I know it Spencer will be making up cool words like "Jank!" :)

You really are a pillar for so many of us around you! Have fun on your weekend get-away and I'll call ya next week. Let's get together! I'll bring you some lunch next week or something! Love ya girly!
